Title: Oil Filter in North America
Post by: flipstah on July 22, 2016, 08:30:06 AM
Anyone experimented with 'local' oil filter brands that could fit with the classic Mini? I have a 95 Cooper with a filter that goes in the front, and maybe some people have bought:

- Wix/NAPA
- FRAM
- K&N

If you have access to Wix, Unipart or Bosch that's the way I'd go, stay away from Fram......

As you need to change the oil on these about every 3K miles due to the transmission using the same oil, I go with the best cheapest one I can.

I always use WIX. Never failed me. And I'm a bit anal about my automotive oil.

I'm using GTX 20W50 right now. Seems to be holding their weight.  19.gif

The seals love it; little to no leaks and the oil level is consistent.
