Title: Mini Run in Texas Hill Country
Post by: BruceK on April 27, 2026, 03:34:25 PM
A Dallas-based Mini group held a Mini event this past weekend based in Fredericksburg, Texas. And they invited Mini folks from San Antonio to join them. Michael and I (and two other Minis from San Antonio) took part in the big drive on Saturday. The tour went on all the great roads that many of us have gone on in the west Texas Hill Country previously. I put nearly 400 miles on my Mini and so did Michael on his. Lots of fun.

I remember seeing about that a few months back. Wish I could have done it. Looks like it was a good time with fun roads.

Some drone photos have been shared. This was after one of the Minis had to head back home.

The right size group to make keeping up with each other easier.

Yup. Although the two VTEC-equipped cars made that a bit of a challenge. :)

The red one and the blue saloon.

Yup, those are the ones. The blue one belongs to Tiffany and Randall and the red was recently completed (this was sort of its shakedown run) and belongs to Eugene in San Antonio. Both driven very enthusiastically and I could not keep up with them with my 1275.

I thought about you Dan, and I remembered that poor little 998 Mini with no compression in at least one cylinder (maybe more) that you thrashed and kept up with, or passed, everyone else with.

Looks like a fun time, good Drone shots too!

What is it with the roof racks now? Almost every Beetle you see has one and now they're all over Minis/MINIs both!

Tif drives the heck out of her Vtec Mini, I've seen her at a number of Guido's CMU events ....

Without trying to offend anyone, I believe today's roof racks are just a temporary trend, much like yesterday's spinner hubcaps and curb feelers.
