I still lurk on the Mini Mania forum just to track what is happening there and check the classifieds. It has been slowly getting overrun by spammers until today.
The first 5.75 pages of the forum there are all spam posted with today's date! Even the classifieds are starting to get spam posts.
I would have to say that site is now definitely neglected if not dead.
Just looked, wow! I bet we've had 20 or so regulars come on over, though not a lot of the newcomers are all that active here. If I didn't hand select who can be approved this screen shot shows how many spammer bots are trying to infiltrate us.
Wow, what a mess......I think the last time I was on there, seemed to be a lot of answers were being written by AI rather than actual people too.
Several folks had noted the "answers by AI" trend there.
I noticed last night they had cleaned out the 5.75 pages of spam. Today it was back up to 14 pages of spam before the first actual Mini related post.
R.I.P. to that forum.
23+ yrs I've been there on MM. Met a lot of nice folks there. Shame it's gone to this.
Lucky for us we have guys like Dan that have run this forum which is a nice respite from the AI bots & spammers.
With any luck, actual humans from MM will find their way over here.

I just tried to log on, and it appears they are no longer in business. I saw on Facebook that they have been taking money for about a year and not delivering the parts or responding.
What a shitty company, and they always were, at least going back to the early 2000s when I tried to use them and had the same issues with very slow or no shipping. Then they took over Deeves piston rings and ruined that company, then seven enterprises, and ran that right into the ground. Path of destruction with ZFG.
I did enjoy the forum back in the day and tried to support them, but never could get any service.
I gave up on the company when they treated Dean like shit, and then gave up on the forum when bad/dangerous advice was rampant, and rather than ban the guy, one of their own, Jemal, encouraged the bad atmosphere.
What a Joke that place became.

I started this forum largely because I didn't like how they treated Dean.
Someone I spoke to recently said the court records for their bancruptcy case indicated the had closed for good.
The entire Mini Mania site and the 7Ent site are both gone as well.
The last time I browsed the MM forum last week it seemed Bill Cox (under one of his many aliases) was the only person posting and he was doing his usual "beating dead horses" type posts. The classifieds was also starting to be overrun by spammers.
It appears that Deves Rings parted ways with MM and was not part of the sale. They seem to be in business, that's good.

My wife belongs to the Poodle forum, it's owned by one of those internet companies that own many sites. Lately they've introduced AI bots to answer questions. At first people were pretty unhappy with them, now they're having fun messing with them, asking them unanswerable questions! It's pretty funny!
This might be a lot of fun to try.
