Title: new Head gasket inspection
Post by: ADRay on August 24, 2025, 07:06:11 AM
I picked up a couple of head gaskets from Moss. I was looking at them this morning (planning on installing one), and they look like that some of the metal side is splitting away from the rest of it. Just checking if this is a no-go. Thanks

I've seen that, I think it will just squish down when you torque it - these are multi-layer composite gaskets. If it doesn't have a sticky feel to it, you can spray it with Copper Coat for a better seal. You can get it at any parts store. If it feels sticky then don't use the copper coat.....

Thanks Dave. I called Moss yesterday morning and was told it was normal and ok to proceed.
