Wow, I didn't know the panhandle was on fire - hope everyone's OK -

I have a great story about driving a mini pickup through the panhandle during fires.  Everyone had evacuated, unknown to me,  and here I am driving while fire hops the highway and EVERYTHING is on fire.  Smoke made it hard to breath. Was actually pretty scary.

My daughter's boyfriend lost a couple of friends from high school in the fires two days ago - they were out on horseback trying to wrangle cattle to protect them from the fires.  Very sad.

Very sad indeed, sorry to hear about that.

Any idea how it started?


The Perryton fire, nearly half the size of Rhode Island; pretty wild reference - I grew up in Rhode Island.
